Our PTA Needs Your
Help
|
Dear
Parents,
This
is a critical time at Oceanside Jewish Center
PTA. This is the time of year when we start to
pick our board for the next school year. Many of
our PTA board have children who are graduating.
We have many positions open and need your help
to fill them. None of the positions require a
huge time commitment. Those remaining on the
board will offer assistance also. If you have
children in Religious School and Nursery School,
that is fine as our PTA is for both schools.
Please contact one of us if you are interested
in ANY of the following positions. If you have a
friend or two who would like to take the
position with you, that is
fine.

Week of
Giving - We Thank
You!
 A very special and
heartfelt thank you to so many OJC congregants who
participated in a Week of Giving with
members of Young Israel, Temple Avodah and the
Friedberg JCC.
Over one
hundred people were added to the Gift of Life Bone
Marrow Registry due to the tremendous
efforts of members of our community. Our
blood drive added over 70 pints at a time of
critical shortages. We worked together with one
heart and one goal...to save lives. The compassion
and commitment of our volunteers and donors truly
raises the spirits and hopes of those giving and
those receiving.

OJC has been actively
involved with several other religious institutions
in Oceanside providing much needed care to
homeless families. This project is being
coordinated by Family
Promise of Nassau County. Recently, St.
Anthony’s, one of the neighborhood churches, was
the host location. A well organized staff was key
in arranging a successful program. Each
congregation supplies volunteers to the host venue
to assist with food prep and other activities. OJC
is scheduled to be the host congregation for the
week of Dec. 26th thru Jan. 2nd. Please contact
Stacey Glickman at (516) 678-5223 or seglickman@hotmail.com to volunteer or for more
detailed information. This is truly a wonderful
opportunity for the OJC family to give back to the
greater community and surely fulfills the Mitzvah
of providing for those in need. We look forward to
your participation in this most noble
program. |
